Update: W7MHM.org Published The museum's W7MHM Radio Station has launched its new website. It is a work in progress keeping everyone aware of latest radio information updates and special events. W7MHM.ORG Update: Our New Military Heritage Museum DMR Repeater System The museum’s Saturday morning W7MHM DMR net will now be held on Talk Group 313842 from 10-2pm and will run along with the W7MHM FM VHF station on 147.255. The new DMR repeater system at the Military Heritage Museum is now accessible to all area Hams providing them with a direct link to all worldwide BrandMeister Talk Groups. W7MHM 444.6500 (+5), color code 1, timeslot 2, TG 313842 We will have several folks on hand at the museum to help with activities there, but we do need support from radio land in order to make the QSOs happen. BTW - if you are not in the PG area, Echolink-W4DUX-R works great. The kids do enjoy it. We have included a W7MHM QSO Guide that may assist in the QSOs with visitors from the museum. Update: New Call Sign W7MHM - The museum's new designated Call Sign - W7MHM is now set up on the W4DUX repeater system and can be reached on 2 mtr frequency 147.255 PL 136.5. Currently HAM volunteers man the station Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Visitors, kids and adults, get the opportunity to speak on HAM radio systems having QSOs with the outside world. Check in and Join the fun! Update: Project MHM - On January 10th, 2023 the first UHF transmission from the Military Heritage Museum (MHM) took place. Don Kumpost(KG5RVW) had the honor of taking the microphone first. Norm Froman (K0NLF), Bill Barber and Gus Hawkins(AA4GH) all got a turn. Gary Butler, Executive Director of MHM also got on the air and learned more about what Ham Radio has to offer. This has been a PRRA project with all of the above mentioned folks and many others contributing their time and talents to make it happen. On the 10th, the final coax connections were made and antennas were tested. We will be forming a mini-club of Hams and using that to increase the presence of both MHM and PRRA. DMR and DStar are all in the future. Future activities will include getting the HF antenna completed and developing programs for MHM visitors of all ages, Stay tuned! |
